SongBopple is a collection of complete, lyric-forward songs called SayItSongs. Introduced as a creative venture, SongBopple offers an approach to making finished songs available for people to discover, enjoy and license for their own projects, productions, presentations and performances.
SongBopple songs can become part of what you’re creating, presenting or performing—film scenes, dances, podcasts, classroom projects, events, productions and more. License the finished song for your project, or use the lyrics and recording as your guide to create a performance or recording of your own, with your choice of musicians, vocals and instrumentation.
They move through encouragement, relationships, humor, reflection, social observation and plenty else besides. And if one fits something you’re doing, it’s yours to license.
Did anyone ask for that?
Perhaps not. But people don’t ask for access they’ve learned not to expect.
We encounter finished songs every day. We stream them, love them, share them and sometimes build whole memories around them. But connecting with a song doesn’t mean you can simply put it into your film, video, podcast, production or other project. Depending on the use, permissions may be needed for the song itself as well as the recording, and those permissions may or may not be available on terms that work for you.
Which is why we don’t go through life asking Can I use that? every time a song catches our ear. But with SongBopple, the answer is already there. If a song fits something you’re creating, presenting or performing, it’s yours to license.
Themes and Reflections
Work. Friendship. Family. Humor. Conscience. Community. Encouragement. Disappointment. Power. Belonging. Love. Delight.
- One song looks at people functioning inside systems that shape them—and the things they don’t dare say aloud (It’s Shady).
- Another considers a natural world that was giving long before humans began taking (Before We Asked).
- One goes looking for the grownups who’ve made it through some life with their humor, good sense and a little spark intact (Where Do the GrownUps Go?).
- Another takes up the sheer pleasure of being—no proof or reason required (My Speed).
- And sometimes the observation is lighter: Girl, I don’t think that compliment means what you think it means (Silver Skin Truth).
Different territory, but with something in common: each gives something to notice, feel, question, celebrate or simply enjoy. A song can do that. It can bring a thought into the room with enough distance to let us consider it on its own terms—without someone first having to say, I’ve been thinking about the way our work reshapes who we become… Something harder to raise directly can simply be there, heard and considered.
And because a SayItSong is yours to license, it can become part of a classroom, film, event, performance, podcast or production—and part of what’s being created there.
The Story Behind SongBopple
Founded by lyricist W.J. Tera, SongBopple is built around human-written lyrics and a range of subjects, voices and musical approaches. The first SongBopple song, Deeper Love, began as an entirely human musical collaboration, bringing together the voices, instruments and creative contributions of musicians. As the collection expanded, AI-assisted music production also became part of the process.
We invite The Further community to discover what the collection offers, introducing SongBopple and its songs to give readers an opportunity to explore these creative tracks.
It’s a trove of songs to discover and enjoy—and, when one fits, create with.
