Can you tell us who you are and how you started to make music?

I am a singer from New York and I started out as an artist after working on a bunch of movies and series. I have been singing since I was just 6 and wrote my first song at the age of 7. I migrated to the USA in 2018 to work in Hollywood and get my music to the West. The plan was to set a foot before I release my independent music. I landed up working with Marvel Studios on two of their major television series, Loki and Ms. Marvel. This literally propelled my career and gave me recognition in the industry. I felt it was the right time to announce my album which I did just after the release of Ms. Marvel in 2022.

What inspires you to write & create?

My album is all about the experiences I have had in my life. All the songs have something to do directly with me and my life. I want my listeners to know me through my songs. So, its my journey that inspires me to write and create music. When I embarked on creating my album, it was crystal clear that I needed to draw inspiration from my personal experiences and weave them into my songs. The concept behind my album was to connect with my audience and narrate my story through the melodies and lyrics. The debut track had to center around something I hold dear, which is the belief in living life as though it were a movie. I’ve never been a fan of a life dictated by calendars and resume-building. Life should surpass those boundaries, remaining unpredictable, much like an exhilarating thriller movie.

Do you have a specific creative process?

When it comes to songwriting, I don’t follow a particular process or template. It just depends on what I’m feeling. But, most of the times I start writing a song either on my guitar or a piano. The rest just flows. Once I’ve written the song, I do have a very specific process for the production, which is quite streamlined and I’m blessed to have a solid team of musicians, producers, sound engineers with me. The creative process always starts with the story behind the song and what I want the listeners to experience when they hear it. With “Movie Script”, I wanted the listeners to travel to my world of fantasy and experience living life as if it was written like a cinematic movie. The audio production started with making a baseline hook for the song which is funky and goes with a crisp groove. I composed the top line vocal melody purely on the baseline and later added all the electric guitars and synth.

How would you describe your latest release?

“Movie Script” serves as a solid soundscape of both my musical identity and artistic vision. My aim is to establish myself as a pop artist with a unique sonic signature while while also having a commercial and radio-friendly quality into all of my tracks. The song started really well for a debut single. Things really took off in the third week when the Mediabase Reports came in and I saw the song was charting at #62. The song found spots in the radio between major artists such as Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomes, Olivia Rodrigo and Dua Lipa. This success hasn’t really influenced my future releases, but has given me the confidence that something that I’ve done has clicked, and I should continue to do the same.

What can we expect from you in the future?

I have two albums which I will be releasing in the coming years. You will get to hear a variety of singles dropping very frequently which will eventually consolidate into my album called 17 & 11 Nights.
