What inspires you to create music?
I grew up in the 80s, recalling very well the explosion of different music, and different vibes being experimented with by artists. I am a fan of all types of music, classical, big band, etc. Electronic music has always been one of my favorites which became more of my life while I was in a relationship with a popular DJane. My inspiration comes from the past and the future as search for new vibes, and my goal is to tell a story through my music.
What is your creative process?
The creative process is just based on mood and listening to unique music. From this, ideas form, and demos are then created. If the demo is starting to tell a story then a track will be made from it. I used to write fiction for many years so the creative process is very similar to that process. The tracks just evolve from ideas. When tracks are completed, I listen to them several times to hear what story they are telling me. Putting them together into an album is a combination of what case idea I have and the stories the tracks are telling me.
Can you describe your latest release?
The Case of The Missing Twin is the listener’s introduction to DJ DeT Vibe (detective). I wish the listener to picture an old, noir detective’s office. DJ Vibe is sitting behind his desk, his face hidden by his fedora and the darkness of the room when a woman rushes in pleading for his help. The listener is taken on a journey, as each track unfolds another aspect of the case, the search, leading to the finale of this case. Every track is its own story as well as being a part of the overall case/album.
What do you plan for the future?
My plan for the future is for each album to be unique, just as any detective case differs from case to case. I am not limiting myself to one singular style. I will try to avoid the usual remixes and when I do embrace a remix, I will make use of music that is usually overlooked in the use of remixes. I already have three more albums plotted out in both story form and with tracks. My goal is to take the listeners on interesting, tumultuous journeys throughout our world, space, and time via the cases DJ DeT Vibe undertakes. I am playing around with creating videos for each track, and then putting them up on Rumble; when I have more time to focus on this part.
