OUR CONVERSATION WITH SONI. FOR”THE RELEASE OF HIS ALBUM “WHEN I REMEMBER YOU.”

If there’s one thing that soni. does well, it’s his innate ability to transport listeners to creative and eclectic sonic places.

His music is rife with solar melodies and well-crafted arrangements, echoing influences from jazz to lo-fi hip-hop with subtle touches of rock. Beyond a specific genre,  the Florida-based musician offers a true musical experience.

His latest release, an instrumental opus named “when I remember you.” perfectly illustrates our point and proves that quality still exists, in a tasteless industry.

soni. stands out with his signature and impeccable instrumentation. It is like morning coffee: addictive and necessary to start the day on the right foot.

Tell us who you are and how you started to make music?

I’m a florida based musician who enjoys making whatever i feel like making ranging from instrumental jazz and funk and lofi to indie rock and metal.

What inspires you to write music?

I always used music to convey the way I feel. Being able to express those feelings through music and reflect is what inspires me to continue to write music.

What is your creative process?

My creative process changes slightly based on what im working on but it boils down to writing chord progressions, looping them over, jamming for hours until i find something that sticks

Can you describe your latest release?

My latest release “when i remember you.” is an instrumental funk/jazz album that I wrote over the past few years. I built the album on older projects I was working on and I wanted to compile them together.

What do you plan for the future?

I plan on local live shows sometime this year but outside of that I have a more alternative rock/metal ep that I’ve been working on. I also am working on another lofi hip hop project, no other updates than that but I hope you check it out when it comes out.
