London-based artist and composer Phoebe Coco just returned with a new EP titled “I Am Not A Machine”. While she’s firmly rooted in London, Phoebe Coco’s musical journey has a special connection with Germany, where her artistic endeavors have taken flight.
Born in the heart of London, Phoebe Coco’s upbringing in the lush landscapes of The Brecon Beacons National Park has instilled in her a profound appreciation for the contrasts between the natural and urban worlds. This duality lies at the core of her music, especially with this new release, evident in her lilting lyrics and the fusion of organic and electronic sounds.
Phoebe Coco’s music transcends geographical boundaries, and her connection with Germany adds an exciting dimension to her artistic journey. She has co-devised two performance pieces, performing the show and music live with premieres in Berlin (HAU/Berlin Performing Arts Festival), Leipzig (LOFT), and Munich (Rodeo Festival/Kammerspiel). These performances mark a significant collaboration between Phoebe Coco and the German art scene.
In 2023, the artist also performed in Berlin, where she showcased the songs from the EP in a nightclub setting. Her collaboration with electronic music producers, including the likes of Goldenbug, makes this performance particularly intriguing. This fusion of her ethereal sound with the electronic beats of Berlin’s nightlife speaks to the versatility of her music and her willingness to explore new horizons.
