Artist Spotlight: An Interview with Little Miss!
1. How did you come up with the name Little Miss? Who are your biggest musical inspirations, and how have they shaped your sound?
My name ‘Little Miss’ comes from my nickname growing up—for example, I’d be called “Little Miss Attitude” or “Little Miss Worrybag,” along with other names beginning with “Little Miss.” So I thought, why not keep it with me now?
My biggest musical inspirations at the moment are Ashnikko, Paramore, and The Pretty Reckless. I feel that you can hear all of these in my music. Ashnikko inspires the diva attitude and electronic instrumentals; Paramore bring the powerful, belty vocals; and The Pretty Reckless shape the edginess of my sound.
2. How long have you been making music, and what first drew you to becoming a pop artist?
I feel like I was a late bloomer to the music scene. I started a music course at college in 2021, and that’s when my passion really came to light. I started to pursue music professionally in 2023 once I graduated, collaborating with other musicians.
I feel that the alternative pop scene drew me in as it’s what I enjoy listening to most—and also what has helped me get through tough times. However, I’m not afraid to experiment with other genres and create a fusion in my music.
3. You’re signed to Big Condo Records—what’s that experience been like? And what does it mean to you to perform at the Big Condo Records Weekender?
Being signed to Big Condo Records really inspired me to improve my craft. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the team at Big Condo constantly believing in me and pushing me. I’m so grateful for all of their support and the platform they continue to give me—and I’m excited for the journey ahead.
To be performing at the Big Condo Records Weekender is amazing! I performed last year, and that performance ultimately got me signed to Big Condo and helped me get myself out there. I even won the Fan Base Award trophy! To perform a second time this year is so exciting, and the lineup is incredible. Make sure you get your tickets for 8th June at the Kazimier Stockroom.
4. Can you tell us about your creative process? Do you start with lyrics, melodies, or a certain mood you’re trying to capture?
My creative process changes depending on the song and how the idea comes to mind. I’d say most of the time the melody comes first, then the lyrics, and then I try to create the instrumentals.
5. What can fans expect from your upcoming music? Are there any themes or stories you’re excited to explore in your next releases?
Expect intricate melodies, riffs, powerful belty vocals—and attitude.
I’m excited to share typical themes in non-typical or non-traditional styles and show my versatility.
