Like her music, Soma is not from one place alone. Born in Iraqi Kurdistan she made her way to Finland as a child, and then settled to Stockholm later to concentrate on her music career. Her music is also a journey, confident modern pop with it’s roots deep in Motown and their heritage later in the 80’s. Her voice is unique in the world of pop music, both figuratively and literally, and her songwriting doesn’t pale in comparison with the stars of the past or the present.
