What does the future hold for this rising artist? Find out now
Tell us who you are and how you started to make music?
My name is Ricardo Lara and I am the individual behind the Man Dime project. I started making music as early as 10 years old but since September of 2023 I’ve been pursing this music project consistently. My very first piece of work entitled The Santa Martha EP’s: 1 was released on April 6, 2024 and I have been working on releasing more music ever since. Since the releasing my first EP I have followed that up by releasing 2 albums and a recent EP that just came out this year.
What is your creative process?
My creative process is fairly simple. I usually start off by laying down a drum beat, followed by the baseline and then everything else flows afterwards. I try not to overcomplicate things when making music so the simpler the better. I get a lot of my inspiration from modern Goth rock and post punk music as well as 80s post punk and all the other sub genres of the Goth rock scene.
Can you describe your latest release?
My latest release, The Santa Martha EP’s: 2, is something I’ve been working on since the release of my second album: Donde Matán II. I’m still experimenting and trying to improve my sound and I believe this is the stepping stone to the evolution of the Man Dime sound. I’m having lots of fun experimenting and trying out different sounds so I’m excited to see what I come up with next.
What do you plan for the future?
My plans for the future is to continue making and releasing music as well as playing live shows. I’m currently on the search for musicians because my ideal vision for Man Dime is to become a 3 piece band. One of my main goals is to someday go on tour with some of the best known names in the modern goth rock/ post punk scene such as French Police (Chicago), Blood Club (Chicago), Obskuros (Los Angeles) and Haunt Me (El Paso, Texas) to name a few. One can only dream right?
