Our conversation with rising artist Sofía Martín

We fell in love with Sofía Martín’s voice, a trilingual singer-songwriter born in Germany and raised in Spain. We hear her on a track titled “Yo Por Ti” x VIZE & Abraham Mateo, a powerful summer hit.

She brings the track to higher levels with her sweet and solar vocal performance and the song is addictive from the first notes. This “feel-good” single works perfectly and transports you into a Latin-pop journey, with a delicious electronic touch.

We had the pleasure to have a little chat with Sofía Martín. Listen to “Yo Por Ti” and rendez-vous below:

Welcome to our redaction! Tell us who you are and how you started to make music?

I have always loved listening to music, playing the guitar, the piano, singing and writing songs. Music is my biggest passion and hobby. It is my way of expressing myself. I started busking and performing live at a very young age, so it has always been very clear to me, that I want to dedicate my life and my career to this.

What inspires you to write and create music?

Life, moods, my family, conversations with friends, events that have happened in my life. Heartbreaks and happy moments. I’m constantly writing and finding inspirations wherever I go.

With my latest single “Yo Por Ti” I got inspired by imagining the feeling of summer, the lightness that comes with it, when the days are longer and the nights are shorter. A summer love story at a party on the beach, that feels like it will last forever. A love that will never fade away.

How would you describe your latest release?

” Yo Por Ti” is one of my favorite songs that I have released so far. It is a collaboration with two artists that I appreciate a lot. VIZE and Abraham Mateo. “’Yo Por Ti’ brings together the best of two worlds and is therefore probably the best description of who I am as an artist, too. The song is a combination between German Electro-/Dancepop production and Spanish lyrics, adding influence from the genres Latin Pop, Reggaeton and Electro Latin Music. The result is a song that shows variety at its best and I would love to dedicate it not only to my own roots, but also to general diversity and colourfulness in this world, the feeling of freedom, connectedness and ease” Sofía Martin adds.

What can we expect from you in the future?

In the future I want to keep working on new songs, evolve as an artist, work with other great artists, musicians and producers and hopefully go on tour in the coming years.
