To wrap up the week, we’re taking you on a journey to discover Barefoot on Bumblebees, a project we’re uncovering through the striking and intriguing opus, “Let’s Take Pictures of Us Dancing on Their Graves.”
It’s a deeply compelling release, driven by a fascinating contrast between an authentic, unpretentious folk et alt rock formula and poignant storytelling. Stripped of pretense, the track radiates raw sincerity.
Across the nine tracks, we hear cheerful melodies, sometimes made melancholy by a singular tone of voice. The lyrics are profound, and suddenly we feel less alone. Whether through the female or male vocals, they share a unique way of performing that holds our hand and accompanies our sorrows and pains.
They create an irony—a satirical contrast between their sounds and their lyrics about chaos, the ambient gloom where everything falls apart, and yet we still have to push forward through life. Like a raw slice of life.
From Don’t Go Where I Can’t Follow to End Of The World Exercise, you will never look at music and the world around you the same way again. Sensitive souls, definitely don’t hold back!
