Bosko Baker is a roots musician bringing a fresh spin to classic American sounds. Blending country blues, ragtime, folk, and swing, he creates his own style known as “street swing” or “bozo blues,” a sound built on tradition, storytelling, and raw musical energy.
A street performer turned internationally touring tramp, Bosko has spent years taking his music from the streets to stages around the world. Often found between Québec City and New Orleans, his unique style of gutter jazz and street swing captures the spirit of the places, people, and stories that shape his journey.
Inspired by legendary artists including Doc Watson, Merle Travis, Big Bill Broonzy, Blind Blake, Jimmie Rodgers, and Mississippi John Hurt, Bosko carries the heart of early American roots music while adding his own unpredictable twist. His live performances are known for their spontaneous energy, finger-picking guitar, and foot-stomping rhythms that bring audiences into his world.
Throughout his career, Bosko has performed and headlined folk festivals across Europe, South America, Canada, and the USA. He has also worked as a producer and musician, including playing on Johanna Rose’s track “Montreal Mess Around,” which reached over 100,000 streams in its first year.
Bosko Baker’s latest release, “Puddle of Joy,” takes listeners on a wild ride through the highs and lows of life, inspired by unforgettable nights in New Orleans that stretched into the early morning.
The track blends dark, bluesy verses with uplifting, energetic choruses, creating a feeling of transformation and movement. “Puddle of Joy” captures the constant changes in life, shifting between different emotions and reminding listeners to embrace every part of the journey.
With its fever-dream feeling and New Orleans spirit, the song brings together mystery, excitement, and a little bit of chaos. It feels like wandering through the city after midnight, chasing moments that are strange, beautiful, and impossible to forget.
With “Puddle of Joy,” Bosko Baker continues to celebrate the wild, colourful world of roots music. Combining old traditions with his own street-born sound, he creates songs that feel timeless, unpredictable, and full of life.
