Our discovery of the day is just perfect for this Sunday. Day after a night out, cold, shy sunbeam: we needed something to warm our heart.
With his single “Winter”, the talented Chicago-based artist Yunglo proves that he is part of the rising music Stars. We played the song on repeat and were never tired of it: tuneful and melodious instumental with old school touches, a perfect level of production, a voice we fell in love with…
And, he is only 23 years old… Could you imagine that.
Yunglo’s work reminds us of the biggest artists, but with his own flow: a bit of Drake, Ty Dolla Sign, and also Tory Lanez in a sense. He is in line with creative artists and we bet that the music industry will fight for him.
Let’s discover Yunglo in 5 questions :
Welcome Yunglo! First of all, can you tell us who you are and how you started to do music?
I started making music out of high school when I was really into making beats and learning how to create different sounds instrumentally. I always wrote songs whenever I felt inspired by something.
What inspires you to write music?
My love for creating new sounds and telling my perspective on life inspired me to write music. R&B music has the biggest influence on how I think when I’m in the zone.
What is your creation process?
Usually, I like to hear a beat and the melodies just come to my head. I tend to just let it flow and not force vibes, whatever sound I get from the moment I hear the beat is what I’d stick with.
Can you tell us more about your latest release “Winter”?
So for winter, it was really about a real experience with someone, where I felt like I had to be this totally different person. Felt like I needed to change myself to be with them or make them happy. So that’s where the “winter” reference is from because you have to adjust to the seasons. So the song was more so metaphorical turning this cold 🥶 season to how this female treated me.
What are your plans for the future?
I plan on being on billboard charts, working with the top artist of today’s music and getting into other ventures outside of music as well.
