Every once in a while, a track arrives that makes you grin and groove while also poking at your brain. That’s exactly what happened today with Energy Whores and their single Pretty Sparkly Things.
The song kicks off like an innocent children’s tune—playful, almost nursery-like—before exploding into a whirlwind of electro-pop perfection. Pulsing beats, shimmering synths, and a subtle retro edge collide, creating the kind of sound that begs you to dance your way into the weekend. Yet it’s the vocal delivery—strange, hypnotic, and totally captivating—that makes the song feel like it was transmitted straight from another planet.
But don’t be fooled by the glittery surface. Beneath the sparkle lies sharp satire. Pretty Sparkly Things calls out the obsession with influencers, filters, luxury, and the hollow systems that keep us scrolling and consuming. It’s playful, yes, but it’s also a wake-up call.
That’s the genius here: Energy Whores make us move, laugh, and question society—all in under four minutes. A track that shines, sparkles, and stings at the same time. Press play:
