King Ayisoba and Rocky Dawuni have released “No Tradition No Africa” a bold collaboration that is moving people across the continent and beyond. This is not entertainment, this is truth set to music. Over driving kologo rhythms, ancestral drums and Afro-roots power, the two icons deliver words that cut deep creating an anthem for identity, history and African pride. They would be honored if Recording Academy voters would take it under consideration for “Best African Music Performance.“
“Our strength is in our culture,” King Ayisoba says. “When we forget where we come from, we lose our way. This song is to remind us to go back, so we can go forward.”
The official video released alongside the single in late May 2026, brings those words to life. Filmed in Ghana, it honors elders, tradition-bearers, dancers and communities showing that African tradition is not behind us rather it is the foundation that we build on. Legendary musician Dela Botri brings his magical Atenteben flute to “No Tradition No Africa” which was produced by renown Ghanaian producer Panji Anoff.
“No Tradition No Africa” is sparking conversations about language, heritage and self-determination. The track unites two of Ghana’s most vital voices: King Ayisoba — the kologo revolutionary and King of Kologo Music with Rocky Dawuni — the GRAMMY nominated global voice for justice and Afro Roots music. Together, they’ve given Africa anthem for this moment.
