The musical revelation of August is Lizzie Thomas. With ‘Awakening’, she delivers an album that captures the soft warmth of long summer evenings and the gentle glow of treasured moments. Nine tracks weave together jazz, soul, refined pop, and raw emotion into a seamless, heartfelt journey.
The opening track, This Is Love, greets us with tender piano, elegant rhythms, and lush arrangements, all wrapped around a voice that feels like it’s whispering straight to the soul. Magnificent, with its subtle RnB touches, invites a slow, effortless sway, as if time itself decided to pause. The title track, Awakening, unveils the full aura of Lizzie — a vocal presence both powerful and delicate, the kind you dream of experiencing live.
Further in, Love Is All Around rekindles hope in life, love, and music, offering notes laced with pure poetry. Closing the journey, Le Train Bleu (With One More) takes us on an extraordinary ride through the artist’s musical colors, always grounded in jazz and elevated by enchanting quality, with instrumental passages that cleanse the soul like a summer rain.
An album to savor without restraint.
