Andrea Nord, a rising star in the independent music scene, unveils her latest single, Monsters, a poignant exploration of personal struggles and triumph. Hailing from Norway, Nord is celebrated for her emotive vocal delivery and intimate songwriting, both of which shine brightly in this new release.
Inspired by her own battles with self-acceptance and societal pressures, Nord explains, “I wrote this song to her. She wanted to fit in so bad, but she was too much. Monsters is about the negative thoughts we hold on to. We create our realities through the stories we tell ourselves, and by separating them by naming them something else (like monsters), they don’t get to become a part of you. You hold the power of what your life should look like.“
Monsters showcases Nord’s ethereal voice paired with Bruno Mota’s powerful production, creating a track that is both haunting and empowering.
Nord’s dedication to her craft is evident in her achievements. A graduate of Norway’s LIMPI, she has been guided by luminaries like Stargate and Emily Warren. Her song’s immense popularity on the Voisey app in 2020 cemented her as an artist to watch. Monsters follows her earlier release, Little Thing, offering another look into her upcoming debut EP, Closer To My Monsters Than My Friends.
Working with Portuguese producer Bruno Mota, known for his collaborations with Pusha-T, Nord’s upcoming EP delves deep into themes of self-discovery, resilience, and mental health. The EP, developed over three years, will be unveiled through a series of singles throughout 2024, with ‘Monsters’ being the second single.
‘Monsters’ not only previews her debut EP but also provides a powerful anthem for anyone grappling with their own inner battles.
