With a universe so distinct and personal, we couldn’t resist. We asked Junpei<3 five questions to better understand the mind behind the music — a storyteller who prefers to let the songs speak louder than words ever could.
Tell us who you are and how you started to make music!
I started making music thanks to my friends mainly. I’ve always been a big writer but all my friends really got me into vocalizing the stuff I imagined.
What inspires you to write and create?
My love for music and art really inspire and drive me to keep writing, along with the guys who got me in this mess in the first place.
Do you have a specific creative process?
My creative process is a bit dark. I’m pretty obsessive. I put what I’m making above a lot of things I shouldn’t but I can’t help it. It truly is a feeling like no other being locked inside your own mind not knowing what my come out.
Can you describe your latest release?
My album “Juliet’s Mixtape” is basically about a guy, Romeo, who loves art, he loves creating. He falls in love one day though and instead of learning to love the way she wants him to he choose to love the only way he knows how. Creating art. He eventually puts this mixtape together for her and it covers a pretty wide range from Alternative, Bedroom Pop, Lo-Fi, and Hip-Hop.
What can we expect from you in the future?
My current plan for the future is drop more music. Have more fun and be less hyper-critical of every little thing I do.
