Dark pop and alternative rock artist Siren of Cups, signed to Lyrikal Master MuziK, returns with her latest single, “Modern Day Ophelia,” releasing April 10, 2026. Known as a “goth pop star,” she blends moody rock elements with cinematic melodies to create emotionally charged music that draws listeners into her introspective, atmospheric world.
Following her debut “Deadly Nightshade” (July 2025) and “R.I.P (To The Feelings I Had For You)” (October 2025), “Modern Day Ophelia” the second single from her upcoming EP Funeral for My Youth explores self-discovery, resilience, and reclaiming personal identity. The song reflects Siren of Cups’ experiences growing up under high expectations in a turbulent family environment, navigating isolation, anxiety, and mental health struggles. Inspired by Ophelia from Shakespeare’s Hamlet, the chorus “The sun is rising above as I’m drowning under water… You can say that I’m the modern day Ophelia” captures the tension between vulnerability and strength.
Born in Paris and raised in Northern Virginia, she began writing songs at 11 and performed in school and church choirs. In high school, she won a songwriting competition that included meeting Shinedown, and in 2014, she auditioned for The Voice in Washington, D.C. experiences that shaped her artistic vision and stage presence.
“Modern Day Ophelia” will be available on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube on April 10, 2026. Fans can follow Siren of Cups on social media for behind-the-scenes content and updates on her EP Funeral for My Youth.
