Welcome! Tell us who you are and how you started to make music?

I started around 2007 when I was still in middle school in Syria. I wasn’t really concerned with producing or making music at the time, for me and my friends it was just Rap that we were interested in. A year later, Kanye dropped 808s and Heartbreaks and something about that sound just captivated me. I wanted to have a unique sound just like that and that’s really what got me into the production game. The more I travelled and learned, the more I realized that the world went deeper and there was still much more for me to learn. I spent the next 12 years making music religiously, learning from various people everywhere I went until I finally settled in the US and eventually went to school at Full Sail for it.

What inspires you to write music?

Music for me is therapeutic, like any other musician, it’s an outlet. I may have a profound thought, a certain emotion or a state and want to translate that into an audible experience for me first, and if I happen to make something that resonates with someone else then I’ve surpassed my expectations.

How would you describe your creative process?

My creative process consists of three main pillars. One is getting in what I call a state of “flow” that enables me to think of my next move as I’m making my current one behind my keyboard or on my DAW. The second is “brainstorming” and this is where I let out all my random thoughts and just aimlessly create for the next 30-60 mins. Finally, I take a step back and re-assess what I’ve been creating for the last hour or so, taking what works for my concept and scraping the extras.

Can you describe your latest release, the incredible “Awaken”?

“Awaken” is a project I’m pretty excited about. It’s a journey of self-reflection, growth and healing. Me and DonThibo put serious thought and effort into the creation of these instrumentals, despite the lack of vocals, I believe each track is telling a unique story and everything flows seamlessly from one track to the next. In a way this will be my debut album and it’s surreal that after 15 years of making music, this would be my first complete commercial release.

What can we expect from you in the future?

There is so much being prepared for the future. I have a huge number of collaboration projects lined up from many different artists around the world and there are some solid names on that list. I’m also in the process of building my first fully owned studio so expect the frequency and quality of music to jump significantly.
