This season’s sonic revelation comes with a name as intense as his beats: Disintegration C.E. A genre-blending wizard, he fuses melodic house with echoing techno pulses and nostalgic hints of UK garage, all sprinkled with emotionally-charged remixes—even tackling XXXTentacion tracks with cinematic flair. His sound is fresh, addictive, and made to move you.
More than club music, his tracks are a euphoric escape, conjuring up lost dreams on neon-lit dance floors. Think: the vibe of Chris Lake meets the soul of Groove Armada with a twist of 80s new wave. It’s the kind of music that makes the weekend feel like a celebration of sound itself.
And who is this mysterious artist? From school principal to healthcare worker, his journey is as unpredictable as his music. We caught up with him to dig deeper—interview below!
What inspire you to create?
I am inspired by this notion of music as this ongoing creative dialogue about the world…not only the world as it is but the world as it might become, or as it might have been before. The world as is and the world as imagined…which makes for a very rich dialogue especially in dance music,. the dialogue of influences… Also, it is cliche but I do love to inspire emotion..and I am fascinated by nostalgia..but particularly.. with this idea that a listener can hear a song and remember something that they haven’t even experienced or might be somehting they will bever experience directly…if that makes sense. Sort of a timebending “future nostalgia” I guess you could call it. I think a great example of this is how kids born in the 2000’s now think of the 90’s…and it eas certainly how I felt about the 70’s which I never experienced but also about the 80’s through which I was very young….young but with a PhD in MTV ha.
What is your creative process like ?
My creative process usually begins with collecting a set of samples that start to paint a particular landscape for me, to be honest…though I am changing things up by working on my sound design with primarily soft-synths these days and starting here, and also by sampling songs on my own using tracklib.
Can you describe your latest release for our readers?
My latest release is a track called “Weekend Holding,” which is one of my more melodic offerings and is centered around the notion that two people can be in a relationship but be focused on totally different aspects of the relationship and be living totally different lives when apart. I guess its slightly cynical look at contemporary romantic relationships..at least in the United States I suppose. Especially now that we are all working so much just to get by..I would describe it as “melodic tech house” to anyone whom like me, is excited to see so many artists defy subgenre descriptors, but still find them useful in a pinch.
What wan we expect from you in the future?
As far as the future goes.. I am working on a series of releases next that are sort of just…beautiful but random? The intersection of techno and house just gives so much play area to work with!
