SAVARRE’s “Awake” is a mesmerizing masterpiece that epitomizes their avant-garde Spectra Rock style. Led by the exceptionally talented Shannon Denise Evans, the New York-based outfit delivers uncompromising authenticity in this single.
The song’s brilliance lies in its organic instrumentation, emotional piano melodies, and captivating jazzy rhythms that escalate into an explosive energy propelled by intense, powerful guitars.
Throughout the track, the lead singer’s vocals shine, exuding a poignant and poetic power that grabs the listener’s soul. “Awake” takes us on an emotional roller coaster from start to finish, leaving us spellbound by its sheer brilliance and intensity :
“There is power in seeing who I really am and how I fit—or don’t—in the world around me. Detaching from unconsciousness, from being blind, offers a freedom that can be found nowhere else. But that freedom demands a commitment to truth; there is no longer room to pretend. With new eyes open, I see the things that go bump in the night, the people who don’t care for me, the ways in which I ensure acceptance and the light I dim so others will feel more comfortable in my presence. It is my hope that we choose to live awake.” Shannon Denise Evans.
