Most beautiful song of the week: “Welcome” by Heather Ming |Feat Evgeny

Our discovery of the day is entitled “Welcome”. Written by Heather Ming and performed by Evgeny, the song blew us away.

The poetic and magnificent lyrical content, the breathtaking vocal: the track completely took us by surprise. “Welcome” is an anthem to love and to the purest feelings of life.

We wanted to know more about the birth of such of beautiful song and we had an exciting conversation with Heather Ming.

Hello and welcome to The-Further. Can you introduce yourself to our reader and tell us how you started to make music?

My name is Heather Ming. I grew up in California but moved out to Arizona when I was 18. When I was a child I learned how to write poetry. Music soon became my greater passion so I switched from writing poetry to songwriting.

We admire the way you write songs. What inspires you for your music?

I was inspired by bands such as Savage Garden, Linkin Park, and my all-time favourite, Bon Jovi.

What is your creative process?

I used to write songs with pen and paper, but now that I’m older most of my songs are written inside my head during my 40min drive to work. It comes naturally now.

Your latest song “Welcome” is really beautiful. Can you tell us more about it?

My new song “Welcome (feat. Evgeny)” was written for my new baby nephew, Landon. My sister spent many years trying to conceive a child, with no luck. Landon’s birth was a miracle so I wanted to write a song about the joy of giving birth to a child that you’ve waited so long for. Though I love writing, singing isn’t quite in my skill set yet. I found a vocalist that was a great fit for this song. Evgeny is an all-around great vocalist and I am honoured to have had the chance to work with him on this project.

What do you plan for the future?

I plan to keep writing while also picking up some singing lessons. When I can sing my own songs, it’ll be a dream come true.
