Not all artists necessarily dreamed of following a career in the music industry while growing up – and this is also true for OK! Ken. Indeed, as a child growing up in South East Texas, and then moving to North Dakota, he originally wanted to pursue a career in sports. However, this morphed over time into a job as Healthcare Executive for a highly regarded local hospital – something that, on the surface, seems quite far from the musical field!
However, it was the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic that changed OK! Ken’s perceptions and he began searching for new opportunities and activities to fill his time during the lockdowns. It was then that he began songwriting and performing, focusing on creating music that explored the deep tragedies associated with the Covid-19 pandemic. This would see him developing what would eventually become his new career in music – and we’re certainly glad that he took the step to branch out into the music industry!
OK! Ken’s main inspirations appear to be Drake and the Black Eyed Peas, although his style generally seems to blend numerous different styles and themes together, making it complex and appealing to many listeners. With this in mind, his unique style is certainly appealing, and we can’t wait to hear more from him with his next upcoming songs. Plus, his latest brand-new release, “You Know What I Want,” is undeniably a masterpiece – blending confidence with a cheerful tone, it’s certainly a song that keeps us engaged and coming back for more.
