Snowhaus Release New Single “Slackjaw” Ahead of Upcoming Album You Should Know Better

Snowhaus is back with another release from their upcoming album You Should Know Better, and this time it leans into something a little more playful. “Slackjaw” is a breakup song at its core, but it doesn’t sit in sadness for long. Instead, it turns tension into something colourful, loud, and a bit chaotic in the best way.

Fronted by Nate “Leo” Galloway, Snowhaus has built a reputation for blending indie, punk, and emo into what they call “shred pop”, a sound driven by sharp guitar work and honest songwriting. That balance shows up again here, where frustration gets flipped into something energetic and weirdly fun.

“Slackjaw” started with a simple idea: the color red. From there, everything else followed. Candy wrappers, soda labels, bullfights, and that feeling of “seeing red” all come together as part of the song’s world. It’s loose, a little surreal, but still grounded in something real.

At the center of it is a familiar relationship dynamic. The feeling that no matter what you do, it somehow sets the other person off. Like you’re constantly getting it wrong, even when you’re trying not to. The bullfight imagery runs through that idea, painting a picture of someone waving a white flag while the other keeps charging anyway.

Even with that tension, the song doesn’t feel heavy. It leans into the absurd side of those moments. It captures that mix of frustration, disbelief, and eventually just letting go. Not everything needs to be solved. Sometimes things just end.

Snowhaus has spent years building their sound through touring and DIY spaces, and “Slackjaw” feels like another step forward. It keeps things honest, but doesn’t forget to have fun with it.
