Reflecting on the making of the song, Tommy Francisco said, “Not Far is about having a special connection with someone, and being there for them in a time of need.” “I was going through tracks that my manager sent, and the idea came almost immediately. I’m always inspired by my fans/supporters, so I wanted to make a song that uplifted and encouraged them. I laid down a few ideas, then sent them to my manager Stephan “Steph-Writes” Flanagan, who is also a songwriter/producer. He loved the idea, finished the song and had me come to the studio a few days later to record.”
