Welcome to our redaction The Finest! Tell us who you are and how you started to make music!
Hey there, thanks for having me! I’m The Finest, and I’m all about bringing a fresh take on classic soul and R&B. My sound is a laid back, sultry, and real revival of the music that I grew up listening to. I like to think of my music as a bridge between the past and the present. I’m all about honoring the rich history of soul and R&B while also pushing the genre forward and bringing something new to the table.
What inspires you to write and create music?
What inspires me to compose music is the joy I receive from creating melodies and manipulating them into songs. I get into my zone, which keeps me going no matter how complicated things become.
How would you describe your creative process?
My creative process, like my music, is waiting for the appropriate moment for the surge of creativity to take over. And when that time arrives, I just keep going until it clicks. It is a technique to create something out of nothing.
Can you present your latest song?
September is a song I created when the tsunami overtook me and I found solace in music. I had this overwhelming desire to get more out of life and leave something meaningful for my great, great, great grandkids.
What can we expect from you in the future?
In the future, I envision my audience expanding and reaching the right locations for me in areas where I can see myself fitting in. I have so much to contribute, and with the right help, I will be on a whole other level.
