Highlight on our artist of the day: the one and only Chael

Today, we are happy to introduce you to our revelation Chael. We discovered him thanks to his latest stunning release “Friends With A Cheater”, a little addiction.

The song is rocked by pop melodies and this original alternative recipe which makes it stand out from the first seconds. The atmosphere is intense, almost mysterious, and the subtle touches of RNB add another dimension to the track.

We also fell in love with “Better Not”, released during the summer, a track that confirms his potential to create hits from other dimensions. We had the pleasure to have a conversation with him. Click on the link below to listen to his music and discover Chael in 5 questions!

Tell us who you are and how you started to make music?

My name is Chael (pronounced Kale) and I started writing songs when I was 15. I didn’t really think of a career in music, but writing songs helped me cope in high school when I didn’t have a way to express how and what I felt.

What inspires you to write music?

These days, I’ve been drawing inspiration from memories, remembering, and sentimental past times. I think there’s a beauty in romanticizing certain times that you fondly go over every now and then.

Do you have a specific creative process?

I’ve been learning how to create mood boards (yeah, pretty late!) and they’ve been incredibly helpful in giving me a sense of direction on what I want my music to be. These days, I usually create these vision boards before starting a song or deciding what I want to put out.

Can you describe your latest release?

‘Friends With A Cheater’ is a song about the emotional consequences people experience when they’re caught in-between the crossfire of cheating. The conversation is always about the cheater and the victim, but never the friends who are forced to pick a side or even worse, stay quiet. I aim to raise awareness that in the very common scheme of things, especially between men, cheating is never okay.

What do you plan for the future?

Hopefully I can release an EP or album one day. But my biggest goal, honestly, is to work towards some sort of intimate performance/meet-and-greet with the fans who listen to my music. I really want to give back to them and I think this is a great way to do so!
